DIY: How To Make a Cute Photo String

When I first started decorating my apartment I felt like something was missing. Pictures. Without pictures it just gave off this sort of boring, bland, and lonely vibe. I really wanted to incorporate pictures into my apartment somehow but I didn’t know where to put them. Picture frames are nice on shelves and tables, but with the limited space I had it would just end up looking cluttered with frames everywhere.

I also thought of putting them on the walls, but no matter how careful you are you will always end up with some sort of hole, mark, or tear on the wall. I decided to wait and figure out what to do later. One day I was at my friend’s house, and saw the amazing photo string she had made. I was in love! I had finally found a cute, easy, and neat way to put my pictures on my wall. 🙂

First things first materials:

*1 piece of string (Preferably a more durable type of string. The length of the string depends on how many pictures you want to include)

*Clothespins (I have small cute ones because my string is short but any size is good. The amount depends on how many pictures you are putting up)

*2-3 tacks (any kind/style)

Steps:

Step 1: Tie 2 knots at each end of the string.

Step 2: Use the 2 tacks to put through the holes of each knot.

Step 3: Use your clothespins to attach the pictures to the string. My pictures were rather small so I pretty much could use one clothespin for each picture, but if your pictures are on the big or heavier side you may need two clothespins for one picture.

Step 4: (Optional) If your string is really heavy or long, you may want to add a third tack to the middle of your string to give it some extra support.

You can add as many pictures and make as many photo strings as your heart desires. This is such a cute, cheap, and easy idea and even easier to make. I’m sure everyone who happens to lay eyes on it will love it! 🙂
