Last year, I learned sooo much about makeup, probably to atone for the years of not really using it or not using it correctly lol.
Fast forward a year later and I’m an avid makeup lover, I never thought I’d see the day! Through my makeup journey, I have learned many important things.
One important thing I have learned is that expensive name brands are not always the way to go, there is such a place called a drugstore.
Different people have different views when it comes to drugstore makeup brands. Though opinions may be different, I feel we can all agree that though not everyyy drugstore product is good, some are the same as or even better than well known brands.
Today I want to talk about one of my favorite drugstore brands. This brand has become very popular nowadays…NYX!
Let’s talk about a few of my favorite products!
Ombre Blush – $9.99
I love love love this blush. I’ve been trying to find a decent priced but good quality blush for some time. MAC has awesome blushes, but at the time I wasn’t too excited about spending $25 for a blush. After doing some research with my best friend YouTube lol, I stumbled upon this!
The color goes perfect with my skin tone and goes on so nice and smooth. It has the whole ombre thing going on, but I usually just use from the regular color. It comes in 6 colors, so there is definitely a shade for everyone!
Matte Liquid Lipsticks – $5.99
These are two of my current favorite matte liquid lipsticks, I’ve been using these everyday for the past 2 months! I am veryyy into dark lipsticks, specifically red and burgundy. There’s something about the colors and the way they resonate with me that I love!
These colors go on gorgeously! The only con is, you definitely will have to reapply after eating, but that’s no big deal. For such a vibrant and affordable lipstick I don’t mind!
Eye Shadow Base $6.99
The last eye shadow base I purchased was from Korea, but since I no longer live there I was on the hunt for a new one. At this point I was already in love with NYX so I decided to see what kind of eye shadow bases they had to offer.
They have a more skin tone/tan colored one and then there’s the one pictured above that I bought. I’m not exactly sure which one is better, I think the colors might show up a bit more with the white one.
I honestly just chose white because the previous base I had was a cream/white color, so I was just sticking with what I knew. Like for all things, do your research and see which one works for you.
This base goes on nice and smoothly, and holds my eye makeup in place wonderfully! You can’t go wrong for the price!
NYX is definitely one of my favorite brands right now. I just love how all of their products are so affordable with amazing quality as well. Check them out if you haven’t!
